At the end of Route E is the Hellen Clapp spruce tree. Once a record sized tree at over 248 feet tall, it has since been broken short by lightning and wind, though it still sports a diameter of over 18 feet at the base. It is over 600 years old, and is still alive. Before it broke, it's volume was an estimated 51,000 board feet!!
